Geraldine Bridgeman Warren

Geraldine Bridgeman Warren passed away at Vidant Medical Center on Sept. 23, 2019. She was born on April 8, 1932, in Washington. She was the oldest child of the late Jay R. Bridgeman and Olive Whitley Bridgeman. Geraldine graduated from Washington High School in 1950. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Bob Farrish Motor Company and Washington Motor Company.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Joe; one sister, Judith B. Bunn; and three brothers, Maurice R. Bridgeman, Robert C. Bridgeman and Jasper Bridgeman.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Leary and husband Ron; two sons, Randy Warren, of the home, and David Warren and fiancé Denise Bell; two grandsons, J. Roman Leary and wife Ana, and Jeremey S. Warren; one great-granddaughter, Joana Leary; and two great-grandsons, Bryden Warren and Benson Warren.
Geraldine loved sending cards to friends and family and crafting tiny surprises for her great grandchildren. Geraldine was always ready to offer words of encouragement, shining a positive light and sharing the hope we all have through Jesus. She was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and later became a member of First Church of Christ and Friendship Sunday School Class. At both churches she was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of the life of Geraldine will be held 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Washington Funeral & Cremation-Hillside Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also pay condolences at the home, 1772 Lizzard Slip Road, Washington. Interment will be private.
