They’re described as jaw-dropping. As finalists on Season 9 of “America’s Got Talent,” the Sons of Serendip took fans and judges on a musical odyssey featuring orchestral acoustic interpretations of pop music with harp, piano, cello and vocals. Howie Mandell called them the “most musically talented contestants.”

On Tuesday, Sons of Serendip take the Turnage Theatre stage to launch Beaufort County Concert Association’s new season of shows.

“We haven’t had this sort of entertainment in a while,” said BCCA President Alma Friedman. “They’re real funny, and they’re really good.”

Friedman said the personable quartet really made an impression when she and other BCCA board members went to scout out performance prospects at a convention hosted by Live On Stage, which represents Sons of Serendip.

“They made it fun, and they include the audience, and that’s what we like,” Friedman said.

BCCA hosts a series of five concerts each season, bringing in internationally acclaimed artists for shows that are both family friendly and affordable, according to Friedman.

“Sons of Serendip is a musical group of four friends, who through a series of serendipitous events, came together in graduate school at Boston University. Micah Christian, a former teacher from Randolph, Massachusetts, is the lead vocalist of the group; Cordaro Rodriguez, a former attorney from Charlotte is the pianist and guitarist; Kendall Ramseur, a former cello instructor from Charlotte, is the cellist and vocalist; and Mason Morton, who is a former teacher from Atlanta is the harpist for the quartet. They have each been playing their instruments since childhood, but in 2014, they came together to begin what they know will be a long beautiful journey of creating music that touches people’s hearts,” reads the group’s website bio.

Single tickets for Sons of Serendip are $30 each; the only seating available is balcony seating, accessible by stairs — downstairs seating is sold out. However, Freidman said board members could potentially find seats for those who unable to climb stairs.

Sons of Serendip is the first show of the BCCA season; next up is “Shades of Buble,” a three-man tribute celebrating the career of multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Michael Buble, on Nov. 14.
