Mr. James Whitaker, 83, of 407 E. Third St., Washington, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington. A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 9, 2019, at the L.R. Memorial Chapel, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at 11 a.m. at the chapel. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2019, the L.R. Memorial Chapel. Other times the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Mrs. Vernice Cooper, 168 Holloman St., Washington.
