Volunteers pack 450 meals for Ocracoke
NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS: A team of volunteers filled the kitchen of First Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon, preparing more than 450 meals to be delivered to residents of Ocracoke who are still in the midst of recovering from devastating flooding in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. The effort was spearheaded by the staff of Carryout by Chrislyn, aided by the cook team of First Christian Church, Todd Rodzen and the staff of Captain Cooks, a new restaurant coming to Washington at the former site of On the Waterfront. Funding for the effort came from the hurricane relief fund established by Carryout by Chrislyn after Hurricane Florence.
