SEASONS GREETINGS: Hyde County’s historic circa-1857 Octagon House will hold its annual Christmas Open House on Dec. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. As part of the festivities that day, the Engelhard Christian Church Children’s Bell Choir will perform carols beginning at 2:45 p.m. The Octagon House is located at 30868 U.S. Highway 264, Engelhard, NC 27824. The event is free to the public and all are welcome.
