Clara Mae D. Rhodes

Clara Mae Davenport Rhodes, 87, of Columbia, left this world on Nov. 30, 2019 to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was born to the late Percy and Lillie Davenport on Oct. 11, 1932 in Columbia. A former crabber and homemaker, she spent her life praising Jesus, worshiping with her church family at Faith Baptist Church in Columbia, and sending cards to many people throughout the community. She loved Christmas, snow, flowers and anything red.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Towsen Earl Rhodes, and siblings Ida, Thomas, Thelma, Wilma, Percy Jr., and Billy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness and a large family who will miss her warm smile and giving heart.
She is survived by her two children, Mary Lou Everett and James Earl Rhodes and wife Jan, her brother Dallas Davenport, and a host of grandchildren (Beth, Jimmy, Nancy, Joshua, and Jessica) and great grandchildren (Mason, Landon, Miles, Everett and Olivia) who knew her as the best Nana in the world.
The family will receive guest Sunday December 1, 2019 at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia, NC from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of her life will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Columbia on Monday Dec. 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the family plot in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
