On Dec. 9, 2019, Tammy Massie Carrow, 47, was called to be with the Lord at her home. She fought a hard battle against cancer for almost eight months. Born on July 11, 1972, in Washington, she is predeceased by her father A. Wallace Massie.

Survivors include her husband Gilmer; mother, Linda; sister, Rhonda; and brother, James; six children, Michael, Ashley, Wayne, Joe, Brandi and Cody; and six grandchildren, from ages 12 down to 3 months. Tammy was a homemaker living in Grimesland, with her husband over the last several years. She enjoyed spending her time planting flowers, traveling about and visiting with family. A few highlights over her last few months were being able to be here for the birth of her last grandchild, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to Massie’s Mill, Virginia, with her husband.

Private services were held at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, on Dec. 10. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Tammy’s final cost may be made to the Tammy Carrow Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889. The family wishes to thank those who have extended financial and emotional support.

For those who knew and loved Tammy, please feel free to attend a memorial service in her honor on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Proctor Memorial Church in Grimesland from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
