Daffodils in bloom

These daffodils, blooming since early February in a yard west of Columbia, sprang from bulbs transplanted from Dixie Trail in Raleigh nearly 40 years ago. “Daffodils (narcissus) multiply quickly and return to bloom again each spring,” the Longfield Gardens website says. “They are not fussy about soil, will grow in sun or part shade, and are not bothered by deer, rabbits and other pesky critters.”
