NC craft workshop brings variety of classes

Registration for the 2020 Northeastern North Carolina Craft Workshop began on February 7, 2020 and will be accepted on a “first come, first serve” basis until the March 25, 2020 deadline.  Registration forms and class information can be requested from Dee Furlough at the Tyrrell County Cooperative Extension Center or the Dare County Cooperative Extension Center or by emailing at dee_furlough@ncsu.edu.

The registration fee is $12 per day.  All registrations are non-refundable, but transferable, and must be received by the March 25, 2020 deadline.  Class kit fees vary depending on class selection.  The workshop is designed and open to everyone and anyone interested in learning a craft – whether hobbyist, adult or youth groups, craft teachers, small business persons, etc.

The 2020 Workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 12th and Wednesday, May 13th at the Vernon G. James Research & Extension Center located at the Tidewater Research Station on NC Highway 32 in Plymouth, NC.  Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Craft classes are as follows:

Basketry – Woven Wearable Pouch or Small Basket with Wooden Base; Wooden Duck Decoy Carving and Painting; Copper Enamel Collage; Crochet for Beginners, Basic Embroidery, Fly Tying & Small Spinner Bait, Glass Etching, Beaded Ornament Cover; Painting in Acrylic; Painting with Alcohol Ink; Painting with Watercolors; Seagrass Stool Weaving; Silver Jewelry; Advanced Stained Glass Window; YoYo Panel; Gourd Painting; Polymer Clay; Reclaimed Jewelry Art on Velvet and Quilting “New Hourglass.”
