All residents are encouraged to conduct business with the county through telephone and email.

The library is closed, wifi is operational.

Utility payments should be placed in the drop box beside the front door at 108 Water Street. Utility payments should be made by credit card by telephone.

The Utility System will not cut off service to delinquent water customers at this time, Remember, no cut off does not mean that bills are forgiven.

A drop box will be placed in the lobby of 106 Water Street for the deposit of tax payments. Tax bills should be paid by credit card by telephone. Tax certifications can be requested by telephone or email.

DMV remains operational until guidance from NCDOT.

Building inspection should first be contacted by email or telephone before coming to the office.

The Register of Deeds office is open. Follow posted hygiene protocols.

The Board of Elections office is open. Follow posted hygiene protocols.

The Department of Social Services is open. Follow posted hygiene protocols.

The Extension Office is open with reduced staff. Follow posted hygiene protocols.

The Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Management and Animal Control are operational.

The courts are following directives for the NC Administrative Office of the Courts.

Soil and Water Conservation is open. Follow posted hygiene protocols.

Beaufort County Community College intends to staff Tyrrell Hall with laptops for students who need them for school work.

The Gator Line is operational.
