U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Employee of the Year

Bichngoc “BB” Hopkins was recently selected as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency District 6 Employee of the Year.

She is Program Technician for the Tyrrell-Dare and Washington County Farm Service Agency.

The award recognizes employees who have provided extraordinary customer service within the agency and demonstrated an extra effort to serve customers, according to USDA officials.

Hopkins’ program duties include farm storage facility loans, noninsured crop disaster assistance program, disaster, GIS, farm records, compliance and administrative. She is the Acting County Executive Director for Tyrrell-Dare and Washington County.

Hopkins enjoys the warm weather and visiting the Outer Banks. She has been married for 10 years to Derek Hopkins, and they have two daughters. She and her family are members of Sound Side Missionary Baptist Church. Hopkins will receive a cash award and a crystal monument in recognition of the honor.

FSA District 6 includes Beaufort-Hyde, Craven-Carteret, Edgecombe, Greene, Martin, Nash, Pamlico, Pitt, Tyrrell-Dare, Washington, Wayne and Wilson counties.
