Charles W. Smith, formerly of Washington, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at VA Medical Center, El Paso, Texas. Smith had a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, serving 30 years, and retired as staff sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Lorenia; a son, Quincy Hansley-Smith; his parents, the late Joseph and Mary Brimage Smith; eight siblings, Carolyn Smith Rogers, Floyd T. Smith, Sarah E. Smith, Melvin B. Smith, Oscar M. Smith, Joseph Smith, Mazel Smith Boston and Franklin Smith.
