The Washington (noon) Rotary Club welcomed Little Washington Sailing School Director Kevin Clancy as its July 13 guest speaker. Clancy expressed thanks to the Washington (noon) Rotary Club for its consistent financial scholarship support each year.

According to Clancy, this marks the LWSS’s 11th season of teaching 9-to-18-year-old children the art of sailing based on the U.S. Sailing Curriculum. Each one-week session consists of 10 separate learning modules which ultimately enables each student to sail on their own by week’s end.

Despite the pandemic, Clancy said this year’s student enrollment remains very strong with several students coming from Virginia, the Piedmont area and the western side of the state. Clancy encourages parents to seek more information at littlewashingtonsailingschool.org or at 252-402-7878.

Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the Washington (noon) Rotary Club features a variety of “virtual”  guest speakers each Monday at noon.
