Beaufort County Young Life Youth Ministries Executive Director Greg Comacho addressed the Washington (noon) Rotary Club on Monday, emphasizing some of the organization’s most immediate needs.

According to Camacho, a real and significant need is to find an empty warehouse with sufficient space to accommodate approximately 100 high school students for weekly activities and the professional audio/sound equipment.  The youth director also told the club there is always a need for additional youth volunteer ministers and community leaders who would like to serve on the nonprofit organization’s Young Life Committee. Comacho said, “We always welcome more community leaders who have a genuine love for the Lord and a love for kids.”

Prior to COVID-19, hundreds of Beaufort County teens were gathering weekly for fun activities designed to teach teens how to pray while learning about Jesus. Young Life Youth Ministries was organized in Beaufort County 17 years ago, but the worldwide organization was first established in 1941.
