Greetings to the Tyrrell County Schools Family:

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are incredibly delighted to have our children and educators back, particularly after such a challenging spring and summer. As you know, the school environment will be different this fall, but we look forward to reconnecting with our learners.

This year is destined to be one of great success in student and family engagement. Our administrators, teachers and staff have devoted a great deal of time preparing for the return of our students.

I am confident that the students will return to high quality instruction and a safe environment when school physically reopens. We’re excited to welcome new staff members to our great district and look forward to the contributions that they will bring to our community.

The start of a new school year is a wonderful time of year that allows us to develop new goals, build strong relationships and face new challenges. As a district, we are focused on the academic and social development of our students. While improving student achievement is the focus of our mission, we know that the social, emotional and mental health needs of our students and staff must be addressed.

The restrictions of the last 5 months have presented professional and personal challenges for every one.

However, the dedication of the staff in Tyrrell County Schools is second to none and we are committed to having our best year ever!

The Tyrrell County Schools motto for the success is Engage, Empower, Educate. As we begin this new school year, I look forward to working together to reach our potential and surpass our goals. Have a wonderful school year!!
