Eve Elliott Ellis, whose grandparents were Tyrrell County natives, and who has several cousins here, teaches remedial reading in an Enfield, Connecticut, high school. She displays her classroom uniform, which includes mask, face shield, gloves, and apron to guard against contracting COVID-19. Maintaining her upbeat attitude, she said, “Oh, but the good news is I have aprons in 5 colors, and I have masks in multiple colors, so I’m all set!”
