To the Editor:

One of my favorite adages is “It is easier to be a critic than a craftsman.” Well, after reading the Aug. 19, 2020, edition of the Washington Daily News, this critic wanted to applaud you for your craftsmanship of this issue. I found the articles to be about timely issues, well written, and very informative.  In particular, the articles about the mayoral succession and the one about mail-in voting were outstanding, and covered the respective issues in straightforward detail that was easy to follow and understand. Also, the editorial about “the hand dealt” presented the issue without having any kind of “slant.”  Thank you.
Over the years the “mullet wrapper” has had its fair amount of criticism for many reasons — some justified, some not so much. I, for one, admire that you are still afloat under difficult circumstances, and say “keep up the good work!”
