Mr. Joe Lester Cutler Sr., age 80, a resident of 550 Cutler Road, Blounts Creek, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Chocowinity and will be conducted by Pastor Greg Hombirg.

Joe was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 17, 1939, to the late George Oler Cutler and Dora Lee Clark Cutler. He was an avid farmer and worked 45 years in construction. He loved pretty red tractors, old western movies and to be around people, to talk and carry on. He was a former member of the Red Men’s Lodge, Moose Lodge and was a member of First Baptist Church Chocowinity.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruby Jo Hodges Cutler, of the home; three children, Mary Jo Beddard and husband Bob, of Washington, Teresa Piner and husband Wes, of Wake Forest, Joe Cutler Jr., of the home; three grandchildren, Chris Venters, of Wake Forest, Erin Piner, of Wake Forest, Kendell Wenteler and husband Michael, of Washington; and three great-grandchildren, Kira Venters, Jack Venters and Bella Grace Wenteler.
