Sunok Han Smith, aka Sue, age 78, a resident of Washington, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Ms. Sue was born in Pusan, South Korea. She was the oldest of seven children. She learned to take care of herself and her siblings at an early age. She traveled to different countries and the U.S. with her ex-husband, who was in the Air Force for many years.

After her divorce, she found her way to Washington in 1986 with her son, James. She worked at Hamilton Beach and National Spinning for several years before retiring. Ms. Sue loved gardening; you would always find her in the yard doing something. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Washington before her health declined and was unable to attend on a regular basis.

Survivors include her son, James Smith, of Washington; her granddaughter, Brooklyn Smith, in Richmond, Virginia; and a sister in Olympia, Washington.

There will be no memorial service at this time due to the pandemic.
