The six candidates vying for three seats on the Tyrrell County Board of Commissioners have been invited to speak briefly on the front steps of the Courthouse at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The gathering is sponsored by the Tyrrell County Chamber of Commerce so that voters can hear what each candidate feels is important for Tyrrell County.
The six candidates for the 3 seats on the county’s governing board are Democrats Nathan T. “Tommy” Everett (incumbent), Darryl Liverman, and Dorothy Spencer; Republicans Seth Gibbs and Robert Thompson; and unaffiliated candidate Lawrence Swain (incumbent).
Two county commissioners, Democrat Nina Griswell and Republican Jordan Davis, are in the middle of their four-year terms and thus are not on this year’s ballot.
Call the Chamber office at 252-796-1996 with any questions about the event.
Although Candidates’ Night will be held outside, face masks (bring your own) and social distancing (six feet separation from others) are highly recommended.
