A Virginia juvenile has been charged with numerous violations following a high-speed chase and wreck on N.C. 94 in Kilkenny, about 22 miles south of Columbia, on Oct. 6, according to Trooper Matthew Myers of the State Highway Patrol.

The driver, a male under age 18, whose identify is protected by state law, failed to heed the trooper’s signals to stop near Frying Pan Fork at 10:35 a.m., and sped southward with Myers giving chase.

The juvenile was unsuccessful in negotiating the sharp left curve north of the Fairfield bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway and plunged the Honda van into a cattle pasture on the west side of N.C. 94.

He was transported by Washington-Tyrrell EMS to Washington County Regional Medical Center in Plymouth and later released.

Trooper Myers said he had been informed the vehicle,  stolen in Virginia, was headed his way, and he initiated a stop near Frying Pan Fork, which the driver ignored.

Details of the charges filed against the juvenile are also kept sealed by law, the trooper explained.
