Mr. Eddie Alfred Edwards Sr., 68, a resident of Chocowinity, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.

He was born Sept. 1, 1952, to the late Alice and Thelbert Edwards in Pitt County. He was a lover of life, and his family always came first. He never met a stranger and would talk for hours. He loved fixing lawnmowers and operating backhoes. He was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Washington and retired in 2014.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda B. Edwards; one daughter, Karen Woolard (Andy); three sons; Eddie Edwards Jr. (Rebecca), Stanley Edwards (Debra), Joseph Edwards (Cheryl); grandchildren, Joseph Paul Edwards Jr. (Jessica), Landon Edwards, Mason Edwards, Dakota Woolard, Dylan Woolard, Morgan Bullin, Christopher Jones (Angela), Daisey Foster and Nathaniel Foster (Gracie); great-grandchildren, Cadence Edwards, Holly, Christina, Christopher Jr.; three sisters and seven brothers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, four brothers and one great-grandchild.

A graveside celebration of the life of Eddie will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at E & L Edwards family cemetery, 50 Fredericks Road, Chocowinity, NC 27817. Pallbearers include Stanley Edwards, Joseph Edwards Sr., Eddie Edwards Jr., Christopher Jones and Andy Woolard. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Washington Funeral & Cremation.
