Mrs. Barbara Lee Elliott Batchler, age 79, a resident of Batchler Lane, Belhaven, died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at her home.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven.

Mrs. Batchler was born in Beaufort County on August 9, 1941.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph Elliott and Mary Elizabeth Guirkins Elliott. Mrs. Batchler graduated from Bath High School and Norfolk General Hospital Nursing School.  Mrs. Batchler worked as a registered nurse for 10 years in Pennsylvania and 30 years for Dr. Charles O. Boyette in Belhaven.  She was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ.  In her spare time, Mrs. Batchler enjoyed reading, crocheting and bird keeping.

On May 20, 1961, she married Paul Elmer Batchler, who survives.

Surviving with her husband are three sons, Paul Elmer Batchler, Jr. of Merry Hill, N.C., Joseph Andrew Batchler and wife, Patricia Wallace of Pinetown, Claude Alan Batchler and wife, Elizabeth of Belhaven; five grandsons, Andrew, Brandon, Caleb, Bentley and Zayne Batchler; granddaughter, Brandi Batchler; and aunt, Kay Bray.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Batchler was preceded in death by a grandson, P. J. Batchler.
