Mrs. Betty Cobb Hinsley, 83, a resident of Washington, died on Friday December 4, 2020 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A graveside funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday December 7, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Ray West. Pallbearers were Marshall Lee, John Hinsley, J. C. Burnette, Kenan Woolard, Mark Lilley and Tommy Chandler.

Mrs. Hinsley was born in Rogers County, TX on December 21, 1936, daughter of the late Milton Morris Cobb and the late Lady Louise Ward Cobb. She was a graduate of Killeen High School in Texas. On August 23, 1958 she married Ray England Hinsley who preceded her in death on March 20, 2010. Mrs. Hinsley’s working career included an assessor appraiser with the Texas Board of Tax office, an administrative assistant with the Texas Dental Licensing Board, Greenville City Schools and her final job was in clerical work with Washington Police Department. She was a faithful member of First Church of Christ as her health permitted.

Survivors include two sons: Michael Hinsley (Connie) of Charlotte and Larry Hinsley (Louise) of Washington a daughter: Barbara Lee of New Bern; a brother: Bobby Cobb of Aurora, CO and four grandchildren: Marshall Lee, Christina Hinsley, Madison Hinsley and John Hinsley.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to a special friend: Barbara Arnold; to the staff of the cancer center at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville and to the staff of the east wing 2nd floor surgical unit at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
