Beaufort County’s COVID-19 recoveries near 2,000

Beaufort County reported seven new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing its total case count to 2,366. The county also reported that 13 more individuals had recovered from COVID-19, raising the total amount of recoveries to 1,964.

Beaufort County health officials know of 343 active cases of COVID-19 among county residents. Fourteen of those individuals are hospitalized.

North Carolina reported 3,888 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, as well as 12 coronavirus-related deaths.

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services website includes a dashboard that displays COVID-19 vaccination data. That dashboard is updated every Tuesday. As of last Tuesday, Dec. 22, 127 Beaufort County residents had received their first dose of the vaccine.

North Carolina is in Phase 1A of its vaccination plan. Health care workers and long-term care facility staff members and residents are currently eligible to be vaccinated.
