Glenn Franklin Askew, 75, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born August 10, 1945 in Beaufort County he was the son of the late Lester Askew and Myrtle Hassell Askew and was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Hassell Askew.  Glenn retired as a pipe fitter with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Long Acre Chapel Christian Church.

His family includes his wife, Jean Carol Sawyer Askew of Plymouth, N.C.; sister, Janice Askew Stotesberry and husband Donald of Pantego, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Thomas Sawyer and wife Rhonda of Jamesville, N.C., Kenneth R. Sawyer and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville, FL., E.T. Sawyer, Jr. and wife Peggy of Belhaven, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Justin Sawyer, Casey E. Sawyer, Marcia Wynn and husband John, Rex D. Stotesberry and wife Sandy, Don L. Stotesberry, Jr. and wife Inga, Scott Askew and wife Stephanie and Eric Askew and wife Erica.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Scott Askew officiating.  Family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Long Acre Chapel Christian Church at 24597 NC Highway 32N, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
