GREENVILLE — Vidant Health and the Pitt County Health Department are partnering to open a large-scale COVID-19 vaccine site on Monday, Jan. 25, at the Greenville Convention Center.

Vaccines will be administered on an appointment-only basis. Community members throughout eastern North Carolina who are included in the current phase of North Carolina’s vaccine rollout plan will be eligible to make appointments, according to a release from Vidant Health. Scheduling details will be announced in the coming days.

“The public is encouraged to be patient as it will take some time to get all of those eligible vaccinated,” the release says. “The initial goal is to administer more than 4,000 vaccines per week depending on the state’s vaccine allocations.”

Everyone ages 65 and older is currently eligible to be vaccinated.

Vidant has full confidence in the vaccines and we are fully committed to working with our partners to launch and operate the largest vaccine effort in the history of the region.”
