Beaufort County’s COVID-19 death toll is now at 77 after two coronavirus-related deaths were reported Wednesday.
The county also reported 44 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total case count to 3,828. Thirty-three recoveries were reported, bringing the total amount of recoveries to 3,250. Health officials know of 468 active cases among Beaufort County residents. Twelve of those individuals are hospitalized, and none of them are on a ventilator.
North Carolina reported 5,587 new cases and 139 coronavirus-related deaths.
Eastern North Carolina counties with total confirmed cases include: Bertie, (1,496), Beaufort (3,828), Bladen (2,519), Brunswick (6,295), Carteret (3,644), Camden (443), Chowan (1,177), Columbus (4,938), Craven (6,906), Currituck (1,056), Dare (1,629), Duplin (5,155), Edgecombe (3,882), Gates (516), Greene (1,907), Halifax (4,112), Hertford (1,761), Hyde (576), Jones (568), Lenoir (4,470), Martin (1,831), New Hanover (13,163), Northampton (1,462), Onslow (12,416), Pamlico (730), Pasquotank (2,593), Pender (3,983), Perquimans (733), Pitt (14,909) Sampson (6,000), Tyrrell (254) Washington (727), Wayne (8,964) and Wilson (7,226). Mecklenburg (83,816), Wake (62,477), Guilford (33,799) counties have the most cases.
