Martha Lynne Kinsey Asby (“Lynne”), age 77, died Friday, January 22, 2021. Due to COVID concerns there will be no visitation, and the graveside service will be attended by immediate family only. 

Lynne was born in Washington, NC on December 1, 1943 to the late Bill Haywood Kinsey, Sr. and Margaret Cochrane Kinsey.  After growing up in Washington, she lived in Cary, NC since 1978.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Albert Asby, her brother Bill H. Kinsey, Jr. and his wife Lynn Kinsey of Wales,  and her daughter and son Margaret Peykamian and Todd Asby, and their families, of Cary and Raleigh, NC, respectively.  

After high school, Lynne attended DePaul Hospital Nursing School in Norfolk, Virginia. She loved horses, especially her childhood horses Lady and Prince, spending time outside in her yard, ice cream, and being at the beach.  More than anything she loved her grandchildren Roxanna, Layla, Shane and Sarah, even providing childcare for Roxanna and Layla for their first 2 years.  She loved watching all her grandchildren’s activities and hearing about their accomplishments.   One of her favorite things to do was spoil her grandchildren at Christmas.
