Wanda Weston Jennette, 76, of Engelhard died, Monday, February 1, 2021, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. Wanda was born in Hyde County on February 29, 1944.  She was the daughter of the late Palmer Swindell and Eunice Blake. She was married to Tommy Jennette who survives.

She enjoyed reading, fishing, watching basketball, the beauty of the outdoors, and gathering with friends while sharing a cup of coffee at Jesse’s store in Engelhard.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Pastor Jerald Craddock will officiate.

In addition to her husband surviving are three sons; Leon Gibbs, Richard Gibbs, and Jeffrey Gibbs all of Engelhard; one daughter, Yvette Gibbs of Engelhard; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael John Gibbs, a brother, Richard Weston, and a sister Barbara Gibbs.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In keeping with the COVID19 guidelines face masks and social distancing is suggested for all attending the visitation and the service.
