Who will win Super Bowl LV — Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, or Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

We asked local administrators, coaches and randomly selected Beaufort County residents to share their picks with us. Super Bowl LV is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Perry Owens, Washington High football coach: The Chiefs have plenty of options on offense and Mahomes is terrific, but I never bet against the GOAT. Tom Brady is the Greatest Of All Time and I think he wins his seventh ring. It should be an entertaining, offensive-minded game, so I’ll predict a 34-31 Tampa Bay victory.

Jonathan Russell, Washington City Manager: I’m going to go with Tampa Bay in a low-scoring defensive battle. 24-17 Bucs. Tom Brady’s past experience will make all the difference.

Lynn Davis, Belhaven Town Manager: I am not a Tom Brady fan but I wouldn’t bet against him.

Matthew Cheeseman, Beaufort County Schools  Superintendent: Chiefs by five. Andy Reid is the master planner. He will be prepared for Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Mitchell Thomas, coach and former sports editor: Bucs 34, Chiefs 31.

Anna Taylor, Washington resident and graphic designer: It’s a great matchup of youth vs. experience, so I’m rooting for experience as I want Tom Brady to win his seventh Super Bowl. The Bucs also have a number of players with North Carolina college ties, are trying to win on their home field and are the underdogs. All great reasons for me to pull for Tampa Bay.

Julie Edwards, Washington resident and ballet teacher: My teams (Washington and Seattle) are not in it, So I will pull for the underdog Bucs. Patrick Mahomes is an outstanding quarterback, and the Chiefs are fun to watch, but I would like to see Tom Brady win another Super Bowl. I will miss the gatherings of family and friends to watch the game, but it should be a good one.

Heather Moss, Washington resident: I’m gonna go for the Bucs. I like Tom Brady and want him to win.

Ashley Corbett, Washington resident: I hope the Chiefs win, go Patrick Mahomes!

Tyler Gromow, Washington resident and community college student: I don’t have a particular favorite, so I really don’t care who wins. The best parts for me are the commercials and the halftime show. The Weeknd (halftime performer) should be entertaining.
