COVID-19: Beaufort County records 81st death, recoveries near 4,000 mark

Beaufort County recorded its 81st COVID-19 related death Monday.

The county also recorded six new confirmed cases of COVID-19, raising its total cases count to 4,243. Fifteen recoveries from the coronavirus were reported as well; the county is now 17 shy of 4,000 total recoveries.

Health officials know of 179 active cases of COVID-19 among Beaufort County residents. Three of those individuals are hospitalized.

North Carolina reported 2,133 new cases and eight coronavirus-related deaths Monday.

Eastern N.C. counties with total confirmed cases include: Bertie, (1,615), Beaufort (4,243), Bladen (2,896), Brunswick (7,807), Carteret (4,336), Camden (565), Chowan (1,343), Columbus (5,716), Craven (8,118), Currituck (1,348), Dare (1,837), Duplin (5,612), Edgecombe (4,558), Gates (663), Greene (2,125), Halifax (4,934), Hertford (1,930),  Hyde (619), Jones (700), Lenoir (5,352), Martin (2,040), New Hanover (15,797), Northampton (1,664), Onslow (14,411), Pamlico (930), Pasquotank (3,015), Pender  (4,546), Perquimans (880), Pitt (17,162) Sampson (6,590), Tyrrell (300) Washington (965), Wayne (10,152) and Wilson (8,237). Mecklenburg (95,109), Wake (73,195), Guilford (39,089) counties have the most cases.
