Mrs. Verona Bailey Clark Cratch, age 88, a resident of Washington, NC died Friday February 26, 2021 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A private graveside funeral service will be held later at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Father Michael Schuetz.
Mrs. Cratch was born in Beaufort County, NC, daughter of the late Washington Bailey Clark and the late Ruby Mae Nelson Clark. She was a graduate of Chocowinity High School. On October 24, 1951, she married Redding Lewis Cratch Sr. who preceded her in death on July 28, 2009. Mrs. Cratch was a retired assistant to the offices of the Superintendent for the Beaufort County Schools for over forty-five years. She attended Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children: Lynne C. Haskins (David) of Snellville, GA and Robin C. Arnold (Gordon Watts) of Washington; brother: Vernon Clark of Lebanon, MS; sister: Verla C. Largett of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Jason Arnold (Kristen), Andrew Haskins (Stacie), Morgan Arnold (Nick), Lauren McKune (Jeff), and great grandchildren: Kennedy Arnold, Korbyn Arnold, Karrigan Arnold, Draven, Cullen, Storie Rose Haskins, Lachlen and Gwendolyn McKune; sister-in-law: Mary Cratch Woolard and several beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cratch was predeceased along with her parents and husband by a son: Redding L. Cratch, Jr.; a grandson: Colin Cratch Arnold; a brother: Vance Clark and a sister: Vivian C. Whitaker.
