Mrs. Emma Padgett Allen of Washington, N.C. passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her home.  She was born on November 19, 1933 in Jamesville, N.C.  Emma was the daughter of the late Dillon and Sally Hardison Padgett. 

Emma was a member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder.  She was instrumental in the renovation of the Fellowship Hall. Emma was also a member of the Washington Singles Club and the Washington Senior Dance Club. She worked for Beaufort County Schools and retired after 29 years of service.

On October 16, 1953, Emma married Ottis Woodrow Allen.

Emma is survived by a daughter, Becky Allen Perkinson and husband, Phil of Washington; son, Ottis (Buster) Allen and wife, Becky of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Ashley Jones (Brian), Rachel Haggerty (Collin), Taylor Matheson (Jake), Hunter Allen; five great grandchildren, and one sister, Elsie Lee Pierce of Windsor.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ottis Allen, Brown Alligood, Charles Runion; twin sisters, Sarah Pierce and Sally Eason; sister, Mollie Harrison and half-brothers, Buddy and Thurman Jackson.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery at 11:00 AM, conducted by Travis Boyd.
