Clarence Everett, age 82 of Washington, NC passed away at Vidant Medical Center on April 2, 2021. He was born and raised in Bath, NC.

He is survived by his 50-year life partner, Kathy; a daughter Deborah; a son Virgil; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, eight siblings: Faye Water and husband Ernest, Virginia and husband Jimmy, Francis Adams, Ellen Brock and husband Perry, Larry Everett and wife Dennie Mae, Judy Daughtridge and husband Tommy, Aubry Mason, Betty Ange and husband Dempsey and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence is preceded in death by his father Virgil Everett, mother Vonnie Squires Everett, and three siblings: baby Jimmy, James and Doris Everett Koonce.

His career started at Newport News Shipyard where he retired as an inspector with 20 years of service. Clarence went on to work for other contractors as a nuclear inspector in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio before returning home to work in the fishing industry for several years.

Although Clarence enjoyed traveling and meeting new people he also enjoyed being back home, playing chess and bowling.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday April 8, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul Jr. & Washington Funeral and Cremation.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

A private family viewing was previously held.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
