Isreal Gibbs, 49, of Engelhard, died, unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Isreal was born in Beaufort on October 22, 1971. He was the son of Mary Joyce Gibbs who survives.

His calling was the water, he was a commercial fisherman who loved to fish, and oystering.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Surviving in addition to his mother is a son, Travis Gibbs of Engelhard; a daughter, Laurin Rae Gibbs of Engelhard; a granddaughter, Alma Delaney Gibbs; a stepdaughter, Lea Stotesberry of Swan Quarter, his life companion Heather Rubstock and her daughters, Charlotte and Abby, and a sister, Eyleen Brooks of Swan Quarter.
