Miss Sally Lorraine Leggette, age 72, a former resident of the Big Swamp Community, died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Washington.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Linwood Lewis.  Burial followed in Oakdale Cemetery.

Arch Griffin, Steve Griffin and Mark Lilley served as pallbearers.

Miss Leggette was born in Beaufort County on July 17, 1948.  She was the daughter of the late Hugh Clyde Leggette and Gladys Corey Leggette.  Miss Leggette was a retired nursing assistant and caregiver.  She was a member of the Old Ford Church of Christ and attended Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Miss Leggette enjoyed solving crossword and word search puzzles, reading, and attending gospel concerts.

Miss Leggette is survived by her brother, Travis Leggett, and his wife Janie of Washington; two nephews, Mike Leggett and wife Tammy of Chocowinity, Aaron Leggette, and wife Hilary of Raleigh; niece, Emily Lilley and husband, Mark of Washington; and two aunts, Dorothy Griffin of Omaha, Nebraska, Becky of Morehead City.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leggette was preceded in death by an aunt, Mary Ella Daniels.
