Alexander Holman Tavares, 77, of Aurora died Friday, June 4, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.

Alex was born October 23, 1943 to Benjamin & Angeline Tavares in Honolulu, HI.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 28 years of service. Having served two tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tavares of the home.  His children: Shane Tavares (Kendria), Scott Tavares (Shadi), Kelly Taupert, Tiffany Lytle (Richard), and Jeremy Tavares (Courtney). Step children: Kent Berry (Tammy) & Melissa Lewis (Michael). Brothers: Tommy Tavares & Philip Tavares. Grandchildren: Blake, Kaden, Savannah, Hannah, Halia, Isaiah, Anton, Isabelle, Peyton, Gabriel, Sutton, Patrick (Victoria), & Matthew.

At his request, there will be no funeral service, and his ashes will be returned to Honolulu, Hawaii.
