Barbara Ann Galloway Brown passed away June 11, 2021. She was born in Beaufort County on February 1, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Lyndon and Doris Galloway.

An East Carolina graduate, Ms. Brown was a retired educator with a combined 46 years of experience as a first-grade teacher, high school English teacher at North Lenoir High School, and pre-kindergarten teacher at La Grange United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Jordan.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held.

Survivors include her daughter, Janis Smith and husband, Chuck of Greenville; granddaughter, Lyndsey Hanks of Roanoke, Virginia; grandsons, Patrick Smith and Ian Smith of Greenville; brother, Bill Galloway and wife, Marie, of Bath; brother-in-law, Garry Jordan of Aurora; and many nieces and nephews.
