Mr. Billy Ray Ange, Sr., age 69, a resident of Chocowinity, died Tuesday June 22, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday June 27, 2021 at Trinity Episcopal Cemetery in Chocowinity and will be officiated by Travis Boyd. Honorary pallbearers include his brothers, Carlie Ange, Jr., Joe Ange, Larry Ange, Elmer Ange, and Randy Ange.

Mr. Ange was born in Beaufort County on June 29, 1951 to the late Carlie Ethaniel Ange, Sr. and Harriett Harrell Ange. On August 19, 1971 he married Freddie Jane Clark. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mr. Ange loved to shoot pool, play the sweepstakes games, go fishing, playing softball when he was younger and taking care of his fur-child Garfield.

Survivors include his wife Freddie C. Ange of the home, a son, Brian Ange of Chocowinity, a granddaughter, Kimberly Ange, five brothers, Carlie Ange, Jr. of Elizabeth City, Joe Ange and wife Ann of Washington, Larry Ange of Simpson, Elmer Ange and wife B.J. of Chocowinity, Randy Ange of Chocowinity and a sister-in-law, Sandra Ange of Chocowinity.

He is preceded in death by a son, Billy R. Ange, Jr., a brother, Tommy Ange, and a sister, Betty Carol Everett. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday June 26, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
