Evelyn Furlough West, 96, of Plymouth, NC made her heavenly reunion with her beloved husband, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the Carrollton of Plymouth.

She was born in Creswell, NC on August 16, 1924 to the late Isaac and Annie Furlough.  She married the love of her life Stewart West on December 24, 1944.

Mrs. West was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of her family including her parents, in-laws, children and assisting anyway she could with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking and always had extras just in case one of the boy’s friends stopped by the house.  She was a member of the Plymouth Church of Christ.  She treasured most spending time with her family and considered them her greatest gift from God.

Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Annie Furlough; her granddaughter, Allyson West; her husband of 61 years, Stewart West; sister, Violet Spencer and brother, Leroy Furlough.

She is survived by 4 sons and their wives; Ray and Becky of Washington, NC, Bob and Beth of Knoxville, TN, Duke and Cindi of Staunton, VA and Kerry and Linda of Plymouth, NC.

Eight Grandchildren; Jennifer Dostert (John) of Cary, NC, Valerie Rogerson (Carl) of Wilmington, NC, Susan Leath of Knoxville, TN, Brantley West of Williamston, NC, Alexandra West (Michael Leonhard) of Wethersfield, CT, Joshua West (Meridith) of Greenville, NC, Erin West of Staunton, VA and Taylor West of Phoenix, OR.

Eight Great-Grandchildren; John Dostert, Will Dostert, Hayden Rogerson, Emily Rogerson, Stuart Ann Leath, Ella Leonhard, Liam Leonhard and Eleanor West.  Additional family includes nieces, Glenda Spencer Parrish of Louisburg, NC and Betty West Morris of Columbia, NC and nephews, Lee Furlough and Tim Furlough of Chesapeake, VA.

The Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at the Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden and Jay Hardison officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the home of her son Kerry and Linda West.

Flowers are welcome.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Plymouth Church of Christ, 905 Washington Street, Plymouth, NC 27962 and/or The Nursing Home Patient Auxiliary, (NHPA), c/o Greta Barber, 111 Hilly Circle, Plymouth, NC  27962.
