East Carolina University’s 2021 football roster has been released and it features a couple of former standout players from the Northside Panthers.

Redshirt freshman Zakkai Wilson is listed at No. 91 for the Pirates. He shined at several positions for Northside High School, graduating in 2020.

Zakkai is joined on the ECU roster this season by brother Zion Wilson, a freshman defensive lineman. Zion is listed as No. 70 and appears for the first time in a Pirates uniform in a hype video recently released by the school. He was a defensive star for Northside, leading the team to the NCHSAA, Class 1A state championship game at Carter-Finley Stadium. Zion earned all-conference, all-region and all-state honors his senior year.
