Northside’s two-game winning streak to start the season ended with a 49-7 loss at 2A Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday night.

The Panthers (2-1) were scheduled to host Riverside, but that game was cancelled after the Pirates entered COVID-19 quarantine.

Northside scored in the first quarter on Marcus Clayton’s 60-yard run and trailed 21-7 at halftime. The Bulldogs put the game away with a 21-point third quarter and added another touchdown in the final period.

The Bulldog defense limited the Panthers to 157 yards rushing, including 66 from Clayton. Senior Mitch Godley gained 51 on 13 carries.

Northside is back in action Sept. 10 at home against South Creek.
