In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, local domestic violence shelter Ruth’s House held its Light the Way Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday night at Mac Hodges Festival Park.  The vigil was in remembrance of victims of domestic violence. Ruth’s House is encouraging everyone to participate in Purple Thursday on Oct. 21. On that day, participants will wear purple to raise domestic violence awareness.
