The Pungo Christian Academy volleyball team will play for the first state championship in program history Saturday after a 3-0 sweep of Wilson Greenfield in Tuesday’s 1A semi-final.

The top seeded Lady Raiders (19-3) swept Greenfield 25-15, 25-12 and 25-22 to advance to the first state championship match in program history.

Junior hitter Reagan Stoop was dominant at the net, assisted mainly by setter Audrey Gibbs throughout the evening.

PCA has advanced deeper into the playoffs each year under head coach Melanie Eddleman. The Raiders reached the quarterfinals in 2019, semifinals in 2020 and will host conference foe Albemarle School for the championship.

The Raiders have defeated the Colts two out of three times this year, sweeping Albemarle School the last time they came to PCA.

Game time is yet to be determined
