Dugan wins regional-Panthers girls and boys qualify for state meet

Northside senior Keanu Dugan won the boys 1A East regional meet Saturday at Pamlico County High School and helped the boys team qualify for the state meet this Saturday in Kernersville.

Dugan covered the 5K course in 17:32. Freshman Andrew Harding was ninth in 18:32, sophomore Mason Newman finished 11th in 19:04, sophomore Bryson Proctor took 12th in 19:07 and senor Brent Holland was 22nd in 20:31. Arie Dehoog and Zane Brooks also competed.

Sophomore Kiele Scott led the girls state-qualifying team with a sixth place time of 22:15. Freshman Emma Boyd was 16th in 25:46, sophomore Anna Claire Barrett was 21st in 27:22, while junior Leah Cahoon and sophomore Lauren Rouse also competed.
