Mr. Wilbur Dean Campbell, age 91, a resident of 120 Bath Circle, Washington, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, NC, conducted by Pastor Joe Ange.
Mr. Campbell was born in Washington, D.C. on August 5, 1930. He was the son of the late Henry B. Campbell and Melissa Frances Campbell. Mr. Campbell graduated from The College of William and Mary with a B.A. Degree. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Campbell retired from the ranks of the Senior Executive Service of Federal Auditors with the General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (N.A.R.F.E.), and the Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
On January 1, 1954, Mr. Campbell married the former Ophelia Elizabeth Hoggard, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are son, Adam Campbell of Washington and his children, Eric Campbell and Megan Campbell both of Richmond, VA.; daughter, Amy Elizabeth Parsons and husband, Thomas and their children, Cal Parsons, Samuel Parsons, Abby Parsons all of Hutchinson, MN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Campbell.
