Weyerhaeuser through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund has awarded the Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department a $6,000 grant.  The local giving fund advisory committee from Weyerhaeuser had reviewed the grant request and was instrumental in securing the grant for the all-volunteer fire company.

The funds will be used to purchase replacement turn out gear for two of the 10 sets of volunteer firefighters whose gear has fallen out of compliance and in need of being replaced.

“On behalf of the Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department we are truly grateful for the support of Weyerhaeuser,” a release from the fire department says.
