Vidant Health announced Wednesday that it is updating its visitor guidelines across its entire system, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and the spread of the Omicron variant increases.

As of 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, all of the hospital system’s visitors will be required to wear a hospital-issued mask. Cloth masks will no longer be allowed.

Vidant noted that visitation is restricted, and is also reminding visitors to be mindful of the system’s new screening process. Visitors now need to complete their symptom screenings at vidanthealth.com/checkin. Upon doing so, they will receive a QR code on their smartphone. That QR code will be scanned upon arrival, and sensors will capture temperature readings in real time. Once a visitor is cleared for entry, a single day visitor pass is generated.
