New leadership team coming to Chocowinity Middle School

Chocowinity Middle School will have a new leadership team for the 2022-23 school year, Beaufort County Schools announced Monday. Kelly Makepeace, currently principal of P.S. Jones Middle School, will transition to the same position at Chocowinity Middle after the conclusion of this school year. P.S. Jones assistant principal Rosalyn Grimes and Chocowinity Primary School assistant principal Lauren Johnson will also transition to the CMS administration team. Assistant principal Greg Lentine will remain at CMS.

“The administration change is a direct effort to advance the teaching and learning experiences for all CMS teachers and students,” BCS Superintendent Matthew Cheeseman said. “I am proud to announce this change as the first action to ensure that CMS students receive the world-class education they deserve. It is my expectation that the CMS administrators, teachers, and staff reimagine and design school to advance the academic growth for all students.”
